Summer Blues Extravaganza!
Kevin Coleman & The Flat Five Blues Band is a group of local blues cats dedicated to serving you a healthy dose of legendary West Coast, Chicago, and Texas blues. Kevin and The Flat Five have been playing together for eight years in Honolulu, but their combined experience is well over 150 years! Their big influences include Little Walter, James Harman, James Cotton, Willie Dixon, William Clarke, Gary Primich, Los Lobos, Kim Wilson & the Fabulous T-Birds, Anson Funderberg, Sam Myers, Mike Bloomfield, Alex Shultz, Savoy Brown, and more.
It will be something a little different this August 17th. We have three special guests:
1. Honolulu's favorite female vocalist "rocker turned blues," Lori "Sheesta Lori" Coleman (influences: Bonnie Raitt, Christine McVie, Linda Ronstadt)
2. Legendary local bluesman, Mark "Mojohand" Prados, known for his band Mojohand (80s and 90s). Mark has paid his dues and is about the best all round bluesman in Hawaii today!
3. Thomas Hinson. Tommy has a resume most would die for, and The Flat Five love to have him whenever he can sit in. Think Jimi Hendrix, all the Kins, and more -- he will also get up and sing a couple.
