Medici's Renowned Buffet will start at 5:30 pm

Concert starts at 6:30 pm

Come and be dazzled by two professional opera singers from South Korea -- all educated in both Korea and New York, who will provide you with stunning renditions of arias and songs such as Di Capua's "O Sole Mio," Puccini's "E lucevan le stelle," Gershwin's "Summertime" and Arlen's "Over the Rainbow," and as a special treat, "The Shepherd on the Rock" by Schubert, featuring clarinetist Gunhwan Jung and pianist Pavlina Nakalenova.

Yuri Park, Soprano: Praised for her "exquisitely agile, polished and organic singing" by Opera News in the U.S., soprano Yuri Park debuted as Musetta in La Boheme in New York, under the baton of Lorin Maazel, among many other major operatic roles both in the U.S., Europe, and in South Korea.

Tenor Jinho Hwang is rapidly establishing himself as an international contender in the Italian bel canto and spinto operatic repertoire. His is a rare voice, not only capable of technically demanding passages and brilliant, effortless high notes, but also of a rich, penetrating timbre and performances of great passion and elegance.

Gunhwan Jung, Clarinet, completed his doctorate (DMA) and master’s (MM) from Boston University in music performance under a full academic scholarship and dean’s awards. He performed regularly at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, NYC as a soloist and chamber music musician from 2006-2015, and recently performed to a sold-out concert at Atherton Hall in Honolulu and two more Carnegie Hall chamber music concerts this year.

Pianist Pavlina Nakalenova is originally from Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She received her B.M. in Piano Performance and a M.M. in Piano Performance from the University of Hawai’i. In 2007 she performed George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with the UH Symphony and was named Outstanding Artist in Piano Performance.

Medici's Famous Buffet will be served from 5:30-6:30, but will be closed during the concert. Wine, beer, and well drinks will be available at the bar.
